The Trilby Tour hits town!

Dear Golfer, The international phenomenon that is the William Hunt Trilby Tour arrived at The Park (formally Tracy Park) near Bath recently for the Avon and South West Championship with a bang. A concept that has gripped the imagination of golfers all over the country, it gives amateur players the chance to compete in the environment of the tour pro. Filmed and shown worldwide on Sky Sports, the players compete over 18 holes with the top four players facing three further holes to decide the eventual champion with “winner takes all”. The top 12 players at each of the nine regional championships all then qualify for the international final at The Buckinghamshire Club later in the year. Read more >>> |

Vale resort sees 50% rise in group golf bookings
The Vale Resort in Hensol, near Cardiff, has recorded a 50% leap in group golf bookings in year on year sales. Both men and women looking to experience golf in Wales are being enticed by the Resort’s two courses The Lake and the Wales National. A number of this year’s bookings are also repeat bookings from golfers who played for the first time in 2010. The Resort’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Paul Beddoe said: “It is a little early to say that this increase in demand is entirely down to The Ryder Cup, but without doubt it must have a major bearing. St Thomas makes history |

| A team of golfers from Staffordshire are out to make history for their club after winning through to the finals of one of the world’s biggest amateur golfing competitions. The team from St Thomas’s Priory Golf Club near Rugeley will travel to Spain in November to play in finals of the Mail on Sunday Classic, after winning a tense match in UK finals of the competition. It is the furthest the club has ever been in the competition reaching the final four teams out of more than 1,400 golf clubs across the UK who entered. Read more >>> | |||
